OUR MISSION
Welcome to the new Sibley Building. Commercial
and retail space is available and apartments are
coming soon. To see other large scale, historic
properties we have renovated visit Boott Mills,
Whaler's Place, Park Road, and Oliver Lofts.
THE HISTORY
The Sibley Building has a rich history in Rochester.
Built in 1848 by Boston natives Rufus Sibley,
Alexander Lindsay and John Curr, the original store,
Sibley's, was called "The Boston Store". By 1939,
Sibley's was the largest department store betweeen
New York City and Chicago. In 1990, Sibley's
merged into Kaufmann's, which then became Macy's
in 2006.
